Smores

Meet S’mores, a handsome agouti boy believed to be around 1½ years old.

S’mores was found in Campbell River, and it didn’t take us long to realize that this tidy, incredibly tame little guy was almost certainly someone’s pet. Despite being neutered, he was much too comfortable with people and far too well cared-for to fit the picture of a truly feral rabbit.

As we learned more about his story, we discovered that S’mores had actually become quite notorious for escaping and going off on little adventures after his family began allowing him and his brother to free-roam their yard. Sadly, his brother is believed to have passed away.

But S’mores? This little guy has proven just how resilient he is.

After everything he has been through, S’mores is getting the chance to start over somewhere safe, where his days of wandering the streets are finally behind him. He is a sweet reminder of just how dangerous free-roaming can be for domestic rabbits—and how incredibly tough these little animals can be.

We’re so happy this handsome boy found his way to us.
